ESTATE WILLIAM SPRATLING AMETHYST TAXCO CROSS
This Vintage William Spratling Taxco Cross Pendant is an exemplary piece from the Mexican silver renaissance. The pendant features richly hued, deep purple amethyst stones set into a strikingly large cross, conveying a sense of elegance and prominence. Accompanied by its original handmade sterling silver chain, the craftsmanship underscores the piece's substantial feel and mid-century origin. A part of our Vintage William Spratling Jewelry Collection, this piece is depicted in collector’s book Mexican Silver by Penny Morrell and Carole Beck. Stamped with SPRATLING's distinct marks and weighing a significant 119 grams, this pendant is dated between 1944 and 1946.
