Alphonse La Paglia (1907–1953) was an Italian-born American silversmith renowned for his collaboration with Georg Jensen USA. Born in Sicily, he studied silversmithing under Georg Jensen in Denmark before immigrating to the United States in the early 1940s. Settling in New Jersey, La Paglia began designing and crafting jewelry for Frederick Lunning's Georg Jensen USA Inc., producing pieces that reflected the Jensen style. In 1952, he partnered with the International Silver Company, relocating his workshop to Meriden, Connecticut, where he established the International Sterling Craft Associates. There, he created modernist, Danish-inspired hollowware and jewelry retailed by International Silver. La Paglia's career was cut short when he died unexpectedly in 1953 at the age of 46. Despite his untimely death, his designs continued to be produced posthumously, leaving a lasting impact on American silver design.
