Georg Jensen Rose Quartz Brooch in Sterling Silver
This spectacular vintage brooch from Georg Jensen exemplifies timeless Art Nouveau elegance. Personally designed by Jensen in 1913, this piece features delicate rose quartz cabochons set against an intricately crafted sterling silver floral motif. Its organic design beautifully reflects the naturalistic themes of the early 20th century, for which Georg Jensen became renowned.
Based on the hallmark markings, this brooch was crafted between 1933 and 1944, adding to its historical significance. Variations of this iconic design are documented in Georg Jensen Jewelry by Anscombe, Gelfer-Jorgensen, Greenbaum, and Soro (Yale University Press, 2005, p. 220) and Georg Jensen, A Tradition of Splendid Silver by Janet Drucker (Schiffer Publishing Ltd., 2001, p. 79).
